For the projects we run for our clients, we are looking for a Consultant Biomarkers & Bioanalysis with a background in analytical or clinical laboratory sciences and hands-on experience working with biological samples. The role focuses on bioanalysis and biomarker activities across multiple client projects in a fast-paced consultancy environment, applying your laboratory expertise in a broader development context. You will be part of our Bioanalysis and Biomarkers team, which supports clients across all aspects of bioanalysis and is dedicated to generating high-quality PK and PD biomarker data to drive clinical development programs forward. In this role, you will combine operational support with involvement in scientific discussions with clients, contributing to biomarker and bioanalysis strategy and supporting development-related questions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience in a drug development setting and/or in managing external laboratories or CROs is considered a plus.

Your responsibilities may include

  • Contributing to bioanalytical strategies in support of (clinical) development studies.
  • Reviewing analytical method development and method validation reports.
  • Advising on and trouble shooting analytical method development activities.
  • Supporting the translation of R&D analytical methods to fit-for-purpose/validated analytical methods
  • Supporting sample logistics, sample handling, and alignment with data management and clinical teams
  • Supporting and coordinating bioanalytical activities performed by external laboratories and CROs.
  • Writing and/or optimizing laboratory protocols.
  • Interpreting data and contributing to scientific reports, presentations, and client recommendations.
  • Contributing to internal knowledge development, best practices, and the further development of internal processes, tools, and infrastructure for structured bioanalysis and biomarker activities

Requirements & qualifications

  • BSc/MSc or PhD in biomedical laboratory science, medical biology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a medical, research, or clinical laboratory setting.
  • Experience with analytical method development and (fit-for-purpose) validation.
  • Working knowledge of FDA, EMA, and ICH guidelines for bioanalytical method validation.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear and well-structured scientific documentation in English.
  • Experience with -omics techniques is a plus.
  • Experience working in a drug development environment is a plus.
  • Experience interacting with or supporting external laboratories or CROs is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing client needs.
